At Dinosaur Ridge where many tracks and bones have been found
Since I have Thursdays free from watercolor classes until March 31, we decided to go to Red Rocks Park and eat lunch at the grill in the new visitor's center. As we neared the turnoff and it was still too early for lunch I suggested we stop at Dinosaur Ridge to take some photos. When we parked we noticed some new descriptive signs on the other side of the road and followed them around a curve where they joined the Dakota Ridge Trail which took us along the top of the lower ridge of the Dakota Hogback. What a beautiful trail! Neither of us had walked it before but I'm certain we'll return.
My husband has just received his paleontology certification from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. When we hike I learn so much about geology and types of rock. Now if I could just retain all that information.
