This photo depicts Wednesday afternoon at Cherry Creek near the shopping center on a 65-degree winter day. Yesterday it rained all afternoon. This morning we awoke to a blanket of fluffy wet snow--all three typical winter weather for Denver. It is now 2:30 p.m. and the sun is shining with a temp of 45. The trick is trying to dress for the daily quirks of the weather before leaving the house at 8:00 a.m. Long time residents of Denver have, by necessity, mastered the art of layering: short sleeved shirts topped by long sleeved pullover, covered by zippered sweater, finished by wool or leather jacket. On warm days or inside, depending on the vagaries of the heating system, one peels a layer at a time until comfortable.
