Denver from City Park
Yesterday we were walking through the new Space Center at DMNS and one of Bob's fellow volunteers asked if we'd like to see the new planetarium show. Neither of us had been there since the new one had opened so we accepted his invitation. Bob and I were the only ones in the entire 300-seat theater. The actual show lasted only 25 minutes but through the wonders of technology we were able to "view" in detail each planet's exterior along with its moons or rings as we moved through our solar system. As we exited the planetarium we passed a wall inscribed with the quotation, "Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known." --Carl Sagan--
Afterwards we walked into the new space center atrium which looks across City Park to Denver's skyline with a backdrop of Rocky Mountains. I pulled out my digital camera. It was a few moments after sunset with just a bit of afterglow. This view of Denver, only a mile and a half from my home, is one of my favorites.
